Rebounding AK Steel takes a look at Sparrows Point mill

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) - AK Steel Holding Corp., an Ohio-based steelmaker on the financial rebound, is taking a look at the Sparrows Point steel mill near Baltimore, a United Steelworkers official has told union members.
A bid by AK Steel of West Chester, Ohio, would mark the emergence of a second U.S. steelmaker interested in acquiring the Sparrows Point complex, which Mittal Steel Co. NV must sell to settle antitrust issues. Illinois-based Esmark Inc., which failed to complete a $1.35 billion purchase of Sparrows Point last year, has said it expects to bid again. Continued
