1788 - Maryland becomes the 7th state to ratify the U.S. Constitution

Maryland's capital city, Annapolis, is famous as the home of the U.S. Naval Academy. Maryland, the Free State or Old Line State, calls the black-eyed Susan its state flower, and the Baltimore Orioles are the ... yes, the state baseball team ... but also, the state bird/s.
