The railroad tracks that once divided New Freedom, Pennsylvania have now become the center of town. The tracks, and small rail yard, are still there, along with a depot museum. The Northern Central Rail Trail goes through it too. And maybe it’s just me, but the people on the northern end of the trail seem a lot less Cheeveresque than their southern counterparts, making for a more relaxed atmosphere. There are at least two trackside restaurants and, on the weekends, you may even see a track-speeder or two loping down the old line.
