(YDR) Motorcycle sidecars emerged in the early 1900s, providing a way to transport family and friends and playing a significant role in all theatres of World War II, according to Classic Motorworks, a motorcycle and sidecar distributor.
Sidecars were profitable for decades thereafter for Harley-Davidson, the motorcycle maker that operates a plant in Springettsbury Township.
