Here’s the item that ran in the September 30, 1901 Sun with Judge McSherry’s photo: “The fall term of the Court of Appeals of Maryland will begin Monday, October 7, one week from today. The docket for the term includes some 66 cases. No court of last resort in any State in the Union has a better record for prompt dispatch of business than the Maryland Court of Appeals, in which it is a rule never to permit appeals to go over from one term to another. At the end of each term, of which there are three every year -- January, April and October -- the docket is clear. Continued
